In addition to unveiling the all-new MacBook Pro laptops at its Unleashed event, Apple has officially shared the release dates for macOS Monterey and iOS 15.1. The major update for macOS and the one for iOS 15.1 will launch next week.

MacOS Monterey release date and compatibility

Apple has been beta testing for macOS Monterey since June and we have now learned that the planned new operating system will be available soon to all users with a compatible Mac.

In his article AirPods 3 Newsroom, Apple has confirmed that macOS Monterey will arrive the week of October 25, possibly 25 or 26. On the official Monterey page, the launch date is 25 october.

IOS 15.1 Release Date and Features

  • iOS 15.1 could also arrive at this time, but it could arrive later in the week;
  • iOS 15.1 reactivates SharePlay, adds support for COVID-19 vaccination cards, an Auto Macro toggle, and more;
  • iOS 15.1 beta 1 reactivates the SharePlay function after a delay;
  • Apple Adds Support for Storage of COVID-19 Vaccination Cards in Wallet with iOS 15.1;
  • HomePod 15.1 beta 1 brings back Lossless and Dolby Atmos support.

New features and changes made with macOS 12 Monterey include a completely redesigned Safari, a shortcuts app coming to the Mac, a new Focus mode, Quick Notes, AirPlay to Mac, Universal Control to work seamlessly across multiple Apple devices, and Moreover.

But we’ll have to see if Universal Control will arrive (it has officially just started testing in Monterey beta 10).
