In Windows 10, you can use Settings to change and customize many operating system-related settings. If you share your computer and don’t want users to be confused about different settings, you can easily hide certain pages in Settings. Here’s what you can do.

Use of a free third party application

The easiest way to hide or block certain pages in Settings is to use a free program called Win 10 Block Settings. The good thing about the app is that it’s portable and you don’t have to install it to use it.

1. Towards direction developer site and download the application. Unzip it to your desktop and run the application.

2. To hide a specific page, make sure the “Hide pages” option is selected in the first drop-down menu, right-click an empty space, and select “Add New.”

3. Select the URI of the configuration page you want to hide and click the Add to List button. Most parameter URIs are pretty self-explanatory and follow the real name of the target parameter page. If you’re ever confused, check this out official documents to learn more about a particular URI.

4. In the main window, click the Save icon to save the changes.

5. Changes happen in an instant. If you open Settings, you will no longer see hidden pages.

6. You can also show only certain pages and hide everything else. To do this, select Show pages only from the first drop-down menu and add pages to display. Be sure to save your changes.

7. If you open the Settings application, you will only see the root pages of the available settings. Everything else is hidden.

8. When you open the main settings page, you will only see the pages that you have explicitly added to the application. All other pages will be hidden from view.

9. To view all settings pages, select “Disable Blocking” from the first drop-down menu, or right-click the item and select “Remove” to clear the entries.

Using the Group Policy Editor

If you don’t want to use third-party software to hide a specific configuration page, you can use the Group Policy Editor. The downside is that the Group Policy Editor is only available to Pro and Enterprise users. If you are a home user, follow the first method.

1. Search gpedit.msc From the Start menu and open it. In the Group Policy Editor, go to “User Preferences -> Administrative Templates -> Control Panel”.

2. In the right pane, locate and double-click the Settings Page Visibility policy.

3. In the properties window, select the radio setting “On”. Enter in the Settings section hide:settings_page_uriand click the “Apply” button. Be sure to replace “settings_page_uri” with the actual URI without the “ms-settings:” part.

4. Reboot the system for the policy changes to take effect.

5. After the restart, you will no longer be able to find this page in Settings.

6. To return, select Not Configured or Disabled in the Policy Settings window.
