If you’re watching the video game news, you’ll probably know that the long-awaited exclusivity is coming for PS4 and PS5 on February 18, 2022, namely Horizon Forbidden West. In recent weeks, communication around the name Guerrilla Games has accelerated rapidly, and developers regularly tell us a little to the gaming world through numerous articles published on the Playstation Blog.

We were able to learn more about the combat mechanics, the contribution of DualSense, and the various gadgets or even tribes used by Aloy that inhabit this destroyed world through a sublime 4K trailer. Nevertheless, it should be noted that all extracts were sent until then the studio was only concerned about the PS5 version of the game. And as the title release approached, players began to worry about how Horizon Forbidden West would take shape on PS4 and PS4 Pro.

However, Guerrilla Games has just published its latest article on the Playstation Blog. In the first place the studio announces that the game has gone golden, in other words, its development is officially complete and the game is ready to be printed, duplicated and distributed. No last minute postponement.

Excerpts from PS4 Pro… but not PS4

Through this release, developers are also taking the opportunity to reveal some game videos from Horizon Forbidden West on PS4 Pro. Everyone is free to judge, but it is clear that the title seems smooth and yet impressive when viewed graphically. Afterwards, it is difficult to know whether the performances will remain stable in all situations. Moreover, these three grips really don’t allow us to spot no graphic concessions (textures, light and particle effects, etc.) that the studio uses to make sure the game works well on older Sony consoles.

Another concern these excerpts are from the PS4 Pro version, which is still a more powerful console than the PS4 (1.84 TFLOP vs. 4.2 TFLOP), capable of displaying certain greedy titles at 60 FPS and 4K scaling speeds. In other words, we don’t know what Horizon Forbidden West looks like on PS4and we can only strongly advise you to wait for the first PS4 tests before jumping on the beast.
