Windows 11 has a Lock Screen just like previous versions of Windows. The Lock screen on Windows 11 is roughly the same as Windows 10, which means you can set a custom wallpaper, set Spotlight images, and set a slideshow.

Lock screen wallpaper in Windows 11

The lock screen wallpaper and the login screen wallpaper are the same, so when you change the lock screen wallpaper, it also changes to the lock screen connection screen.

To change the lock screen wallpaper – Windows 11

To change the lock screen wallpaper in Windows 11, follow these steps.

  1. Open Using the settings with the Win + I hotkey.
  2. Mene Customization.
  3. Scroll down and select Lock screen.
  4. Open Customize the drop-down list for your lock screen.
  5. Choose one of three options: Windows projector, image, slide show.
  6. With Spotlight in Windows Windows sets the pictures automatically.
  7. With Picture, you can select an image from your desktop.
  8. With Slide show, you must select a folder containing images that the Lock screen scrolls through.

Note: You will see a preview of the new wallpaper on the lock screen. If you choose Windows Spotlight, you get a new picture every day.

Remove the wallpaper from the login screen

Both the login screen and the Lock screen use the same wallpaper, but you can turn off the wallpaper on the login screen.

  1. Open Using the settings with the Win + I hotkey.
  2. Go for personalization.
  3. Care about Lock screen.
  4. Scroll down and turn Show the lock screen wallpaper on the logged-out screen.

Lock screen messages

You can still view application notifications on the lock screen.

  1. Open Using the settings with the Win + I hotkey.
  2. Mene Personalization> Lock screen.
  3. Open Lock the screen status drop-down list and select the application.

Windows 11 does not allow synchronization of the desktop wallpaper and the lock screen wallpaper. Windows 10 did not have this option, and there are third-party applications that have filled the vacuum. Something similar is likely to happen in Windows 11. It should be noted that the Windows Spotlight images displayed in Windows 11 are exponentially better than those in Windows 10. You can set your desktop to display Windows Spotlight wallpapers automatically. They sync in a day or two, and your desktop and lock screen wallpaper match. Windows 11 has wallpapers that match the new default theme, but you can also use any image you want. Resize the image to match the screen resolution before using it as wallpaper for best results.
